11/27（土）DTC×UKフォトレポート【第7回】イギリスのティーンズと『これから』を設計しよう ～DTC建築ラボ～

第7回目の「DTC建築ラボ」は、ついにラブレターを伝え合う大切な回でした。

講座前日の深夜に届いたイギリスチームのラブレター（デザイン図）は、
全て英語で書かれているため読み込むのに時間がかかりそうですが、
日本チームとはまた異なる体裁で、みんなイギリスチームのデザインに興味津々！

そして日本語でもなかなか説明するのが難しいデザインについて、
英語で説明できるように、夜のプレゼンに向けてみんなでリハーサルを行いました。

いよいよオンラインプレゼンテーションが始まるタイミングで
なんと！時差が10/1から切り替わっていたことが発覚。、
結局1時間押してスタートすることになりました。

5月から始まったこのプロジェクトについて
リサーチから模型作り、デザイン図作成、ラブレター作りに至るまでの過程を
代表して参加者のMukuくんが説明してくれて
担当したデザインの説明を、1人ずつ図面や模型を使って英語でプレゼンしました。

イギリスチームのデザインのプレゼンも1人ずつ聞き、
互いのこれまでのがんばりについて、称え合いました！

さあ、次回からはイギリスチームのラブレターを読み解き、
slackでコミュニケーションをとりながら、模型作りを始めます。

長い1日になりましたが、みなさん最後まで、お疲れさまでした。

The 8th “DTC Architecture Lab” was an important one, and we finally got to share our love letters with each other.

The British team’s love letter (design drawing) had a different style from that of the Japanese team, and was written entirely in English.
However, everyone was very interested in the British team’s designs!

We also spent a lot of time trying to explain the designs in English, which is difficult to do even in Japanese.

They practiced hard to make sure they could deliver the presentation properly in English!

And then, just as the online presentation was about to start…
What a surprise! We found out that the time difference had switched from October 1st.

So we had to start an hour later than usual.

At first, Muku, a participant explained the process of this project, which started in May, from research to model making, design drawing, and love letter writing.
And then they gave presentation on the design they were in charge of, using drawings and models in English.

They also listened to the British team’s design presentation one by one.
We praised each other’s hard work!

Next time, we are going to read the UK team’s love letter, communicate via Slack, and start building the model.

It’s been a long day and we’d like to thank everyone for their hard work.
